This is a nice Grade A- arch (a ragged hole through a rock wall). It shares most of the trail from Wildcat Parking lot with Timmons Arch, which is on the other side of Wildcat Creek.
This is a very difficult arch to find since there is no trail or pathway to the arch once you leave the official trail. For now, you must follow Wildcat Trail until it splits and then at certain point under the arch start a Class 3.0 short, hard scramble straight up. Starting the climb to the right or left of the arch is very detrimental since you will end up at almost unclimbable bluffs.
The nice trail you were on will continue to the top of the ridge, the same ridge where Sunset Arch is located. I tried to follow the ridge from Sunset Arch to the trail, but I got stopped by thorn bushes and rhododendrons. This would a MUCH simpler hike in the future if “someone” would cut a path along the ridge to the arch rather than that hard scramble.
