Bourbon Iron Furnace was built in 1791 by Jacob Myers on Slate Creek in Bath County, Kentucky. The furnace produced iron used for tools, household utensils, and military supplies. It operated into the 19th century, with its last recorded blast in 1838. Today, the surviving limestone furnace stack stands in a roadside historic park and represents an important chapter in Kentucky’s early iron industry.
