This is a popular Grade A arch on an official Class 1.1 trail (well-marked, nearly level, official trail that is over 1 mile long). There are over 100 stair steps at the very end of the trail. ¼ mile can be cut each way from the hike if you drop hikers off at the end of the campground, but this requires someone to walk from the parking until this point. Just don’t leave your car in campground or you could get a ticket or towed.
This is a very large arch that is at a sharp angle that could have been a rock shelter at some point. You can climb on top, but it is unwise since the top is very loose and why would you want to.
Silvermine Arch Trail shares the parking lot with Hidden Arch Trail as both start at the Koomer Ridge campground parking lot that is always busy and mostly full. A great feature of this hike is the very nice, very large bathroom at the campground; this was important when my church took 50 boys on a hike.
