Johnson Creek Covered Bridged

Overview

Johnson Creek Covered Bridge is a historic landmark near Mount Olivet in Robertson County, Kentucky. Constructed in 1874, the bridge spans Johnson Creek along an old route of the Buffalo Trace, near Blue Licks Battlefield. Its distinctive Smith-type truss, reinforced with wooden arches, makes it an unusual example of 19th-century bridge engineering. The bridge was partially damaged by fire and rebuilt around 1910, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The bridge is preserved but closed to vehicular traffic.
